Here at Mercantile Claims, we have the pleasure of helping many clients end their nightmare timeshare experiences, we also help them reclaim money for contracts that were mis-sold to them. It is extremely rewarding to be able to help so many clients, who more often than not have been through years of financial hardship, worry and stress.

Today we have the pleasure of sharing with you, yet another successful claim for compensation for one of our clients, who has received a settlement of over £8,000.

In 2011, our client entered a competition and won a holiday to Malta. The hotel was the prize, all they had to do was pay the air fare. The only condition was they had to attend a ‘short’ meeting at the hotel, the rest of the time they would be free to enjoy their week’s holiday.

Our clients were escorted to a breakfast meeting with a representative who explained he worked for a timeshare termination service. During the meeting they were offered an exclusive membership which sounded much better than their original timeshare. They were promised their timeshare would be terminated, discounted holidays, reduced utility bills and other appealing benefits. Believing this company, they bought the membership which cost a staggering £8,000.

In 2015, our clients again began receiving calls from the termination company asking them to attend another meeting, this time in Tenerife. This meeting was to help them better utilise their membership. They attended the meeting in Tenerife and were greeted by a charming lady in beautiful surroundings. This meeting went on for several hours, it was relentless and by the end our clients were exhausted and worn down.

Our clients reluctantly agreed to pay the additional cost to obtain a higher level of membership, purely as they felt they had no other choice. They were not offered a cooling-off period and later when they arrived home, were refused a cancelation of the contract.

Not knowing what to do next, our clients were recommended to contact Mercantile Claims and thankfully we are pleased to say they have received a full refund of the money they paid to this fraudulent timeshare termination company.

“The whole process with Mercantile Claims was painless, they kept me well informed and up to date and at no time did I feel neglected. They made no false promises and were honourable all of the way through. I would recommended them to my friends and colleagues.”

People who enter into Timeshare agreements often find it difficult to keep up with the mounting maintenance fees and simply cannot afford it any longer. They may also find that the Timeshare no longer suits their needs and simply want to end the contract. There are too many individuals who are willing to take advantage of Timeshare owners and offer fake products, along with Timeshare exit schemes. Before agreeing to any Timeshare termination or exit procedure with an individual or company, seek independent advice and fully research any company you are thinking of working with.

It is also important to remember that purchasing a Timeshare should NEVER be viewed as a financial investment. Timeshare is an investment in lifestyle, in future holidays and family time together. There is almost no resale value to a Timeshare.

The mis-selling of holiday products is, unfortunately, common practice within the holiday industry and these type of crimes often go unreported by the most vulnerable in our society and criminal convictions are few and far between.

If you have purchased a Lifestyle / Concierge Service, a Timeshare or a ‘Holiday Points’ based product from a resort or company and feel unhappy with the service, or feel you have been mis-sold this product, please get in touch with us to discuss how we may be able to help you with a possible Money Back Claim.
